Tougher community penalties for Yorkshire

Taxpayers are millions out of pocket

There are calls for tougher community penalties for Yorkshire's criminals.

It's claimed they owe the taxpayer nearly 30 million pounds in outstanding fines, as prisons are reaching capacity and the courts look for alternative punishments.

In some cases offenders are then given the option to pay at a later date and they're even sometimes just written off.
