York residents sick of rat run

Clifton ward councillors say residents in York are sick of their roads being used as a rat-run.

Residents in Clifton continue to complain that a junction outside their homes is a traffic nightmare.

As part of York's Cycling City Status Westminster Road and The Avenue have had a major revamp.

The problem is, it's made things worst with motorist now taking short-cuts down residental streets to avoid the congestion.

Councillor David Scott wants the council to return the Clifton Green Junction to two lanes, to prevent traffic backing up to Water End.
