Mobile phone mast for Haxby rejected

Mobile phone mast for Haxby rejected

Published by the Minster FM News Team at 3:09pm 16th September 2009.

Residents in Haxby are celebrating as a planning appeal for a mobile phone mast on Oak Tree Lane has failed.

The City of York Council's planning committee turned down Vodafone’s application last year and today an appeal by the firm has been dismissed.

Councillor Richard Watson's told Minster FM "From the outset this mast was far too intrusive across the residential area".

It was rejected on the basis it would harm the character and appearance of the area.
