Man seriously injured after reported stabbing near Bolton Abbey

A man's in hospital with serious injuries after a reported stabbing in the Dales last night.  

  • A man was seriously injured after a reported stabbing near Bolton Abbey. 
  • It happened last night around 8pm at Barden Bridge.
  • A man, in his 20s from Manchester, was arrested and remains in custody.

A man, in his 20s and from Manchester, was arrested and remains in custody - after a man in his 30s was attacked at Barden Bridge near Bolton Abbey around 8pm yesterday.  

The victim had driven to North Yorkshire from Manchester for a barbecue with several friends.

Police say he was attacked during the barbecue following an altercation with another man, who it's believed he knew.  

The victim drove himself to hospital where he remains for treatment.  His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or helped the victim, is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and quote reference 12200089719.
