Woman charged after Foss Barrier incident

A York woman has been charged with a public order offence after police and firefighters were called to the Foss Barrier in York last night (28 May).

Members of the emergency services spent some time talking to the 30 year old at the barrier on Tower Street.

They'd been alerted by members of the public, who contacted them when they saw a woman on top of scaffolding at the barrier at 6.45pm.

Officers attended and specialist police negotiators were brought in to assist.
