UPDATED - Man rescued from river by Ouse Bridge in York

One of the City of York's river bridges has been closed tonight (Monday).
It was while emergency crews deal with an incident on Ouse Bridge.
One male was rescued from the river in a joint operation involving fire crews from York, Acomb and Selby with @YorkRescueBoat and @NPTYorkcity police officers.
He was picked up from the water within a minute of entering and taken to Kings Staith.
There was no wider risk to the safety of the public.
Traffic was diverted via Skeldergate durin g the operation.
The bridge was also closed to pedestrians for a while too.
Station Manager Tony Walker of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said on Twitter:
It was a brilliant 999 team rescue effort
Incident on Ouse Bridge, buses diverting. Sv 6,10,11,9,12 towards Stonebow via Skeldergate, Fishergate and Piccadilly.

Services towards Rougier St from Stonebow are using Picadilly, Nunnery Ln, Station Rise, and onto normal route.
Service 4’s are terminating at Station Rd. ^SF
York Fire Rescue Boat and York Rescue Boat were placed on standby
