Fire crews rescue ducklings and tadpoles

One tweet has demonstrated the strange range of incidents North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Crews.
Posted by Station Manager Bob Hoskins - it explains that crews had a particularly busy Monday - rescuing one man from the River Ouse, and also rescuing ducking and tadpoles!

Ducking were rescued from a drain at the Hiscox building on Peasholme Green, York.
Other call-outs included the rescue of a man from the River Ouse in York, a fire caused by an unattended BBQ at a pub in Heslington, and a large fire on Common Lane, to the south of York.
Mr Hoskins also provided more details on the operation to save Tadpoles - involving a fire crew from Tadcaster.
They refilled a dried-out pond at Bracken Road in York, near the Knavesmire:

"Crews from Tadcaster have provided water to a dried up pond which was full of tadpoles.
Residents of Bracken Rd & Cllr Stephen Fenton asked for assistance & 9000 litres of water was provided.
Crews attended after a fire in undergrowth nearby."
