One of York's MPs is writing to LNER to complain about social distancing on the line from North Yorkshire to London.
LNER has told Minster FM it has used every channel it can to inform people of its guidelines.
York Labour MP Rachael Maskell has described a journey she made on Monday.
She said that there were people sitting in front of her and behind her (There is supposed to be at least two rows between them) and social distancing wasn't happening even though she had a booked seat.
She said it made her very angry that the 2m rule is being ignored.
In response, LNER says they ask customers to help in keeping everyone safe by following advice on social distancing.
Posters, announcements and information screens are being used to get the message across.
"Our social media channels and website also continue to promote how to stay safe when making essential travel with LNER. Our reservation only policy ensures numbers of passengers on our services are limited to enable customers to stay at a safe distance.
We continue to urge that only essential journeys are taken with LNER, and that people follow guidance on social distancing if they really must travel with us."
