Pensioners could miss out in North Yorkshire

Many pensioners could soon miss out on a free bus pass, if the Government introduces means-tested criteria.

A divide between rich and poor pensioners could soon be created because of a Government scheme for bus-passes.

Labour's apparently considering introducing means-testing for travel-consessions.

If passed, the elderly will be judged on their capital savings and if deemed to wealthy will loose their tickets.

But Madeleine Kirk, the Parliamentary Candidate for York Outer, says it doesn't take into account their mobility problems.
