Yorkshire Tea experimenting with plastic free tea bags

Yorkshire Tea say they're developing fully biodegradable tea bags

Harrogate based company Yorkshire Tea say they're onto the second round of tests on fully biodegradable tea bags.

On the website the tea firm said currently their tea bags contain a small amount of plastic to hold the bag together to stop the tea leaves spilling out when it's brewing.

They say the results of a larger production trials on the new plastic-free tea bag are expected in June , and they're working to balance the benefit of a fully biodegradable tea bag with other impacts like an increased carbon footprint.
