Corrie star's iconic curlers, headscarf and pinny go under the hammer.
Following the death of actress Jean Alexander her family in Selby are selling some of her alter ego’s most well-known items.
Former Corrie character Hilda Ogden’s iconic curlers, headscarf and pinny are set to go under the hammer.
Jean Alexander’s niece, Sonia Hearld, who lives in Burn near Selby, said she found her pink pinny, which originally belonged the actress’s mum, stored in her aunt’s wardrobe.
They became a part of TV legend from when she first arrived on the cobbles in 1964, until she left in 1987. Sonia says the items came attached with a hand-written label, which read: “Hilda’s curlers, headscarf and pinny”.
The sale will be held on May 17 in Southport, Merseyside, where Jean lived. Read more about life with Auntie Jean in the Minster FM exclusive here
