Winger Wes York has today joined York City after leaving Vanarama National League club Gateshead.
York, who is celebrating his 25th birthday today, is the third player in the space of three days to join City from the Tynesiders - following midfielder Russ Penn and striker Jordan Burrow to Bootham Crescent.
Originally from Leicester, York started his career at Nuneaton Town and won promotion from National League North during his three years at the club.
He joined National League side Wrexham in summer 2014 and scored 13 goals in 82 league appearances over the next two seasons.
He joined Gateshead in the summer of 2016 and scored 17 goals in 72 league appearances.
Manager Martin Gray said:
"We are very lucky that another player from the National League has chosen to come here. With Russ Penn and Jordan Burrow also joining us this week, I think it has made the move easier.
"Wes is an out-and-out right winger who goes beyond fullbacks on the outside. He brings natural width and great pace and can contribute goals as well.
"He's also a real tough character who is not afraid to put his foot in and get kicked. His temperament is very good so he is the all-round package."
