York City announces plan for 'The City Wall'

It will celebrate the passion and loyalty of the supporters at the new Community Stadium.

The club, working in association with the Stadium Management Company, has been given the go-ahead by City of York Council to create The City Wall at the new Community Stadium.

The City Wall will be located within the south/south-east corner of the new stadium and will celebrate the passion and loyalty of the club's supporters.

The wall will feature a 750mm x 600mm central portrait of City legend Keith Walwyn on white ceramic tile. The portrait has been drawn by local artist Linda Howe, a lifelong City supporter.

The portrait will be surrounded by personalised ceramic tiles which offer supporters a unique opportunity to write their name in City history whilst also celebrating the dawn of a new era for the club.

Each individual tile will measure 150mm x 150mm and will incorporate the club's badge with space for a three-line personalised message consisting of 20 characters per line (maximum 60 characters).

The tiles will be positioned within The City Wall which will become a permanent feature of the new stadium.

Each tile purchased will come with a unique 'Certificate of Authenticity' and replica tiles will also be available to purchase for home delivery.

The newly-created City Wall will be unveiled before the start of next season. All supporters who purchase a tile will be invited to attend the unveiling ceremony.

Order forms for tiles in The City Wall will be available in the official programme for the next league game against Bradford Park Avenue on November 3.

Order forms will subsequently be available from the club shop and online via the club’s official website.

The cost of each tile in The City Wall is £49.95 which includes VAT, installation, and postage of the 'Certificate of Authenticity'.

Certificates will be dispatched before Christmas on all orders placed before December 10, 2018. Orders will continue to be taken after December 10 but without guarantee of pre-Christmas delivery.
