Community Support Development and Innovation Manager
We are pleased to be recruiting a Delivery and Innovation Manager(s) to support the Head of Community Support to further develop and enhance our VCSE support offer.
The role will research, develop, test, launch and embed new support products and services into our existing work streams. This could be as straightforward as a new online training course or more complex, for example working with a range of VCSE partners across Yorkshire to find a joint solution to address a systemic problem or fill a gap in provision.
You’ll need to work right across the charity to make the most of our existing staff’s skills, knowledge and experience, and have great stakeholder management abilities to get the best from, and for, external partners and suppliers. You won’t have a team working for you, so you will need to work collaboratively with colleagues to meet your deadlines to ensure products and services are delivered to time, budget and to the quality standard we would expect.
The senior management team will want you to provide regular progress updates against work plans and evidence based intelligence to help shape and develop the service’s offer. As a member of the Community Support management team you’ll take shared ownership of the service, collectively and collaboratively shaping new service offers, adapting delivery models, and providing exceptional client support.
We are looking for a rare combination of skills – a creative, thoughtful manager who is also able to work in a solution and process driven way with great project management skills. It’s no good having a great idea if it comes to fruition 6 months too late – conversely it would not be helpful to deliver a poorly thought through concept on time! You’ll need to be able to take an idea or concept, research the best approaches, seek input from across the charity and wider VCSE, test and trial and then embed as business as usual. All while maintaining a strong vision for what you wish to achieve and keeping a sense of humour about the barriers you will inevitably face in trying to make it a reality.
It’s a challenging job and no two days will be the same. Hopefully you’ll be excited about helping us give the voluntary and community sector inspiring and effective tools to do amazing things with, and for, their communities.
