The team at York Maze has revealed what many have always wondered – how do they do it!?
Every year, led by farmer Tom Piercy (pictured), they create the world's biggest maize maze, cut into a giant field of corn near Elvington with a design based on a topical theme. In the past we've seen the maze based on the likes of Star Wars, Roald Dahl characters, Thunderbirds and even Yorkshire legends such as Brian Blessed.
But how on earth do you create a giant picture made of several miles of pathways across such a huge field? The work has started this week, and they've revealed exactly how it's done in this video on the York Maze Facebook page.
This year's theme has yet to be revealed, but the maze will be open this year from 14th July.
