A Game of Thrones star will be coming home to York for an annual sports tournament.
Mark Addy, who also starred in The Full Monty, will be opening the University of York's Roses competition.
Organised by The University of York Students’ Union (YUSU), it's now a weekend full of sporting events, family activities, food and drink and much more that takes place on 3-5 May at The University of York and on the River Ouse.
Zac Sheppard, York Sport Union President, said:
‘We’re delighted that York born-and-bred actor Mark Addy will be joining us to support the white rose of York and open the games. Local residents and families are warmly invited onto campus to join in on the range of free activities and events happening over the weekend. This event has been running for over 50 years, and this year we want to truly show the city that students, the Students’ Union and the University embrace the City and its community.’
