Enthusiasts in York who like brass band music are being urged to snap up their tickets now for what promises to be a wonderful concert with the Shepherd Group Concert Brass band in aid of the NSPCC.
The Dunnington NSPCC Fundraising Committee is organising the musical evening on the 14th September at the local Reading Rooms, with the main attraction being the renowned Shepherd Group Concert Brass Band who have kindly and incredibly donated their time for free.
The Shepherd Group Concert Band is made up of 30 brass musicians, comprising both children and adults.
The band performs in concerts and competitions all over Yorkshire conducted by the exuberant Mike Pratt.
Mike possesses boundless energy as a conductor and his limitless musicianship and enthusiasm ensures that the band puts on a great show each and every time they perform.
Kay Federico, Chair of Dunnington NSPCC Volunteer Fundraising Committee said
“I would urge everyone to snap up a ticket for what promises to be an enjoyable musical evening for all whilst raising funds for children who need our help and support.”
Local Fundraising Manager for the NSPCC, Jackie Dawson said:
“The Dunnington Fundraising Committee kindly and tirelessly organise such wonderful events for the NSPCC and the concert on the 14th is no exception.
We can’t thank the Shepherd Group Concert Brass Band enough for giving their time so selflessly especially given their busy schedule and I would urge everyone to buy a ticket before they sell out, for what promises to be a wonderful evening.
Thanks to their efforts we can be there for even more children when they need us most, whether it be through Childline, our schools service or through the York service centre who run a number of therapeutic services for children and their families struggling with abuse and neglect.”
The event is on Saturday 14th September at The Reading Rooms, Church Street, Dunnington YO19 5PW with the concert set to start at 7pm. Tickets are £8 and are available from Dunnington Newsagent, Mrs Jean Sutcliffe 01904 488069 or Mrs Chris Carr on 01904 488338
