PICTURES - Forest fire near Thirsk

Fire crews have been dealing with a large forest fire near Thirsk.
It broke out at 17.50pm on Tuesday at Midlife hill in the Boltby area.
At it's peak an area measure 100 metres by fifty metres was alight.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson:
"A crew from Thirsk attended a fire at Midlife hill in the Boltby area.
On arrival they found approximately 100 x 50 metres of forest on fire. Further crews from Northallerton, Helmsley and the water Bowser from Boroughbridge were sent to assist.
Crews used four hose reel jets and two hose to extinguish the fire and dampen down. "
