North Yorkshire Police's bomb disposal squad have removed a potentially explosive devise from a shop on Goodramgate in York.
A suspected world war two hand granade was handed in to Blue Moon Trading at 1.35pm.
The store, that sells a variety of sporting equipment including airguns, alerted the police immediately.
We're told the device still has the pin attached to the granade and it was genuine, but it had already been deactivated.
