A group of youngsters so nearly stole the show at Bootham Crescent yesterday - as City staged a 'Junior Volunteer Day'.
Six children aged 7-12 were handed unique opportunities to play match day roles during the Vanarama National League North victory over Blyth Spartans.
Oliver Clarkson, Arthur Kay, Amelia Perkins, Aaron Fogg, Josh Crosby, and Oscar Martin all stepped into the limelight - acting as PA announcers, club journalists and photographers, groundstaff, and '50/50 Draw' assistants.
Their efforts won the universal approval of the 'grown-ups' and helped to generate a fantastic family atmosphere as City secured a 2-0 victory to move into the promotion play-off zone.
Club officials are so pleased with the success of the event that a repeat performance is planned later in the season.
