Nathan Dyer has today put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with York City.
The Malton-born defender, 18, made his debut for the Minstermen in October and has now chalked up 10 first team appearances.
He said:
"I am delighted. I only live half an hour away in Malton so it is pretty much my local team. It's pleasing that the club has given me this chance and obviously believes in me.
"I don't think I looked out of place when I played (for the first team). I thought I did well and I just want to kick-on now.
"I still need to progress and get better - but I want to play as many games as I can and try and make the highest level."
Dyer believes City can make the promotion play-offs this season and is also looking forward to playing at the new Community Stadium next season.
