Throughout November, Minster FM has been promoting local businesses in the thriving town of Malton as part of our year-long Love Local campaign.
We love local businesses because the more money spent with them, the more stays in the local economy, boosting jobs and helping local people.

1. Ashley Cooke's Carpets & Furniture
Ashley Cooke’s Carpets & Furniture is a family run business in the heart of Malton. The business is built on quality and passion for outstanding customer service. Ashley Cooke supplies a huge variety of carpets and furniture, vinyl flooring and more for commercial and domestic.
They're open 7 days a week with products available quickly – you can order right up to the week before Christmas for most items. It's handy to park there with free parking next to the building. Check out their amazing deals to be had before Christmas!
2. Chapter One Bistro
No time of the day is a disappointment at Chapter One Bistro. Whether its breakfast before the races, an afternoon tea for a baby shower, an evening birthday meal, or cocktails and sharing platters with the girls, Chapter One can do it all to make your event special.
Fancy something different? How about renting their chef? Siobhan will create a stunning menu perfect for your event, from dinner parties to corporate events, or just simply canapes. Chapter One's priority is always to provide quality, tasty and lovely looking food.
3. Chapter Two Bar
Chapter Two Bar, formerly the Kingshead reopened its doors in May 2016. One of the oldest coaching inns in Ryedale, dating back to late 16th century. The property lends itself to tradition. Chapter Two's owners refurbished the bar, bringing back the social feel and priding themselves as the social local. Whether you are staying in the wonderful accommodation or getting together with friends, you're sure to have a great time.
4. HM Services
HM Services pride themselves on being the friendly, fair and approachable garage, offering servicing and repairs for your car, 4x4 or light commercial vehicle. They realise that not everyone is a mechanic. That’s why they make sure they're are jargon-free, explaining everything clearly and offering detailed quotes before any work is carried out. The highly qualified team do our their utmost to ensure that you’re up to speed with the needs of your vehicle.
5. Interiors at Nine To Eleven
Interiors at Nine To Eleven features a showcase of room ideas and home accessories. There's sure to be plenty to inspire and excite you as you embark on your design journey. In store, you'll find bespoke sofas and chairs, lighting, china and glass, accessories, giftware, pictures, mirrors, upholstery books and lots more.
6. Kemps General Store
Kemps is a true emporium of the beautiful and the unusual. The shop stands as a testament to tradition and the old ways of doing things, a small oasis which reflects a slower, calmer way of life. However, whilst the service may be exactly the same as all those years ago, the products are decidedly much more exciting with new brands and beautiful contemporary designs.
At Kemps, Liz and the team hope you will find the things you most certainly want and may even need, such as an interesting book, lovely art, great cards, quirky things or a selection of beautiful tableware. They also hope that you might uncover something more unusual... one of those little treasures which pops out at you on a shelf when you least expect it.
7. McMillans of Malton
In the 'Food Capital of Yorkshire', you need a drink as well! McMillans of Malton are independent, family-run merchants of fine wine, beer and spirits. They specialise in an eclectic mix of craft gin and whisky, along with a wide range of beer, cider, wine and other spirits. So if you're looking for something a little different, look no further. And if you're not sure exactly what you want, their experienced staff can guide you, with taster samples available for most products.
McMillans has a taste for tradition and a passion for British beverages and they also host gin and whisky tasting evenings, with gin and whisky bars available for private bookings.
8. No.46 Café Bar
No.46 is a totally dog-friendly café, situated in the heart of the gorgeous market town of Malton. They serve delicious breakfast, lunch and coffee roasted locally in Malton. No.46 is open on Mondays from 10am to 5pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am til 4pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am til late. They also serve cocktails and supper on Friday and Saturday evenings. Booking is advised on evenings as No.46 is extremely popular!
9. Spectrum Solicitors
Spectrum Solicitors is a different sort of legal firm – their clients actually like them! They've been happy to grow and take on new staff to meet their client’s demands, allowing them to keep the client at the centre of everything they do.

11. Switch Networks Limited
Switch Networks is a local IT and Telecoms Provider based at Easthorpe just outside Malton.
