Water from a burst main has caused problems on another York road today.
The fault is at the junction of Bishopthorpe Road and Vine Street.
Although the water did flow onto Bishy Road it wasn’t enough to stop traffic – partly because the new one-way system has created a wider path.
The burst pipe caused particular problems for Setting The Scene, the florists shop on Vine Street, which was inundated with water.
Firefighters are pumping water from the shop. Yorkshire Water engineers are also on the scene.
This not the only burst pipe of the day in York.
Shortly before 8am, Yorkshire Water tweeted that a pipe had failed in Stockton Lane, causing supply issues.
And Cllr Andrew Waller tweeted this today:
More water leaks on Gale Lane - now at junctn Tudor Rd (where already sewer diversions in place). Is there an update @YWHelp ? Water coming through pavement and roadside. Looks like sand has congested gulleys so lots of standing water with spray for pedestrians and cyclists. pic.twitter.com/VUt2hTFA7N

It is the latest in a series of water failures. Only last week, a ruptured main closed Gillygate.
Last summer both Walmgate and Haxby Road were flooded after pipes burst.
