A 55-year-old North Yorkshire man has died this morning after his motorbike collided with a stationary roadsweeper on the A165 at Carnaby.
Humberside Police were called by ambulance crews at 5.33am this morning and the road remains closed whilst specialist teams work to establish the circumstances of the incident.
The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers from the Serious Collisions Unit.
Police are not releasing details of where in North Yorkshire he's from at this stage at the request of his family.
Police said:
Our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time and, while they are grateful to all those offering their sympathies, they have asked that the man is not named at this time.
Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Meriva which was in the area at the time of the collision, who could be key witnesses.
We’d also like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage they believe could assist us.
If you can help, please call our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 97 of June 23.
