Can you do the Warm Weather Challenge?

Blogs > Ben Fry's Breakfast Blog > Can you do the Warm Weather Challenge?

25th July 2019

Things we talked about today…

Tears for Fears are performing at the York Racecourse evening meet tomorrow and Ben and Laura wanted to give two lucky winners some badges to go! The challenge Ben set himself was to make Laura cry and produce actual tears and you had to guess whether he could do it or not! Ben’s attempt included talking about Donkeys and Laura’s parents which did not bring about a tear! Well done to Jo and Maz who guessed correctly and won the badges. Laura said Ben should’ve brought puppies in to the studio, that would’ve done it!

It’s 34 degrees today! It’s mafting! It’s hot! It’s sweltering! And Ben is fed up of every person he meets commenting on the heat, so he’s started the Warm Weather Challenge. If you can go the whole day without commenting ‘it’s hot’ about the weather, you pass. If you slip up and mention the heat – you have to donate a Tin to our Tonne of Tins appeal! So we sort of want you all to fail really…

Ben and Laura were out yesterday in Copmanthorpe doing Greatest Place trying to find the friendliest place in Minster Fm Land! The more flags Laura can get people to wave in 60 seconds, the higher the score. Copmanthorpe managed 8, no one denied the flag so they got an extra 10 bonus points! And Laura pitched for an extra point as a van drove past and ‘wooped’ out of the window but couldn’t stop to wave the flag, so she got them ½ a point (which really makes no difference but we’re happy with it) 18 and a ½ points, second in the leaderboard!

Chances to win on air with Ben and Laura…

SCREEN STARS (6:20)

Win a pair of cinema tickets to Everyman York tickets if you can work out the movie or TV show that is acted out by Ben…It’s Guess the Character from the famous quote…

This week you could be winning tickets to Ronan Keating at Castle Howard next weekend!
