Smell Me!
29th May 2020
Things we talked about today…
Ben’s son Nick came into the living room with a surprise yesterday, he kept saying ‘smell me!’. Ben thought it might be a prank, but turns out he had spritzed himself with some kids aftershave! At first this was quite cute, but then he accidentally pepper sprayed himself. Nightmare in the Fry household!
Meanwhile in Laura’s household, Sam has been commissioned to bake some birthday cakes! She returned home yesterday to a very frantic Sam, searching for room to put his 10 cakes he had baked to cool down. He now wants his own baking premises!

Into The Unknown!
26th May 2020
Things we talked about today…
Throughout Lockdown Laura has been re-writing songs to fit the current situation and bringing them out on her ‘Lockdown Life Album’. After a short break to get her mind working again, she is back with another classic! This time a parody of ‘Into The Unknown’ from Frozen 2! Whilst she doesn’t hit many of the notes, the message is very apt. Music video will premiere on our Facebook Page this afternoon – make sure you’re watching!
Ben had a crisis yesterday, he ran out of Ketchup! Of course this is an essential item to pick up on the weekly shop, but Ben couldn’t find any! He ended up going to 3 different places on his way home to finally find it… is that allowed? It was Heinz though so at least he got the good stuff.
Laura has decided the only way she can motivate herself to do any exercise is by trying to fix her Nintendo Wii so she could play Just Dance, it didn’t work. Instead of just going out for a run though, she just placed a bid on a new one with a Wii Fit board on Ebay – she has 5 days until the bidding ends so looks like it’s no exercise until then!

Paddling Pool Disasters
21st May 2020
Things we talked about today…
Every parent knows the torment of a Paddling Pool, and with the hot weather yesterday Ben ended up in a bit of a sticky situation! He first has to pump it up with a pump that only connected to the car, so did this in the front garden. This took him over an hour as the paddling pool had wings and a unicorn’s head to blow up too! Then he couldn’t get it through the door so had to chuck it over the fence, fill it with balls and water, only for his son to only spend 16 minutes in it!
Laura has found out that many of her neighbours own chickens, they were all discussing the different breeds on the street WhatsApp group. She feels left out so she is now coming up with names for her imaginary chickens and googling breeds.

Things we talked about today…
Laura has been house hunting and as of this week going to a few house viewings. The viewings are all safe, with social distancing, sanitizer and no touching door handles! The house she went to see yesterday had some strange features though that she couldn’t get her head around. A Summer House full of old stuffed animals and strange Chuckie like dolls. The strangest this was that the light switches were actually pull cords in the centre of the room! Has anyone else got these?

Ben had some more stories from Home School Hell today, he was trying to teach his son about months, specifically the month December. His wife Jess said he might remember it more if he associates it with a birthday, and proceeded with saying that December includes Santa Claus’s birthday… Obviously Ben corrected her and told Nick is was Jesus’ Birthday – to which Jess replied ‘It’s the same thing!’ Oh dear…

Ben almost had a run in with Yorkshire’s version of The Rock over the weekend. He has a new neighbor that has been having garden parties, and when Ben and his son Nick walked past, Nick said very loudly ‘is that the one who is breaking the rules dad?’. They were just going for a walk, but it quickly turned into a run!
Since Lockdown Laura’s fiancé Sam has spent a lot of time in his man cave with Laura complaining she doesn’t get to see him very often. He has come up with a solution so he can see her every morning, he scanned her face on the new printer and wrapped it around his lampshade. As she is the light of his life, he thought making a Laura Lamp would be a good idea. Laura thinks it looks very creepy like he’s made furniture out of her skin. Weird.

Laura’s Fiance Sam has bought a new hammer to hang one picture up in the house, and is now obsessed with how amazing the hammer is. Apparently it just ‘puts the nails in the wall so smoothly’. Who knew a hammer wasn’t just a hammer?
