Dunnington a new contender for The Greatest Place!

Blogs > Ben Fry's Breakfast Blog > Dunnington a new contender for The Greatest Place!

19th July 2019

Things we talked about today…

Schools out for Summer! Yes it is the last day of term and Laura and Ben gave you the opportunity to nominate a teacher that has gone above and beyond to have a visit from Laura this morning on air and win a Minster FM goodie bag, including badges to York Races to see Tears for Fears next Friday! Shannon Roberts and her son Keelan nominated Mrs Precious from Tang Hall Primary school. Mrs Precious has been the Head for 6 years and is leaving today so loved her surprise!

Ben and Laura were out yesterday in Dunnington doing Greatest Place trying to find the friendliest place in Minster Fm Land! The more flags Laura can get people to wave in 60 seconds, the higher the score. Dunnington managed 9, but 2 no-one denied the flag so they got an extra 10 bonus points! 19 points, top of the leader board!

It’s Meadowfest in Malton tomorrow and it’s House Band Friday today! So Ben Beatties’ After Midnight Band played some fantastic Jazz and Blue for us live in the studio. Meadowfest still has half-price tickets left on our voucher page so if you’re looking for something to do this Saturday make sure you head down to Meadowfest!

Chances to win on air with Ben and Laura…

SCREEN STARS (6:20)

Win a pair of cinema tickets to Everyman York tickets if you can work out the movie or TV show that is acted out by Ben…It’s Guess the Character from the famous quote…

This morning it was Dorothy from Jerry Maguire!

GAME WHEEL (7.30)

This week you could be winning tickets to Bishop Wilton Show this weekend!

Today it was Bandety Blank and Liz won the tickets.

PANIC (8:15)

You can win £25 and a family ticket to York Dungeon if you can hold your nerve or £1,000 if the buzzer goes off!

Luke didn’t manage to name 5 Characters from Peaky Blinders and didn’t win the £25 and the Dungeon Tickets!

Ben and Laura on air weekdays from 6am.
