Things we talked about today…
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that there will be no Stamp Duty for the time being to help with finances and home moves during the pandemic. With Ben’s wife being a solicitor you can imagine how many calls she got! Lots asking if she’d heard the national news, and many asking if Rishi had personally given her any information!
Laura and Ben were joined by Erin this morning who was discussing her campaign to save theatres. The campaign ‘Students Saving Our Theatres’ involves 22 universities across the UK doing challenges to raise money for theatres that may not get a chunk of the funding announced this week. Their target is £10k and they are over half way there! Find them on social media for information on how to donate and get involved.
And the Malton Monthly Food Market is back this Saturday! Tom was on the show this morning telling us all about the new safety guidelines they have put in place to be able to re-open the market and give people confidence to visit Malton and enjoy a fantastic day out with wonderful food! If you want to go and check it out, it will be on in Malton from 9am-3pm.
