Feel good Friday show
13th January 2017
Today we launched The Accumulator Challenge with St Leonard’s Hospice. It’s an Apprentice style challenge where teams from businesses or friends and family get £30 and have a month to turn that into as much money as possible. Ellie and Ben are taking it on but just for a week and Ben’s best idea so far is him doing a sexy car wash for people in Daisy Dukes.. It’s not looking like we are going to get to our £300 target.
It was snow drama all day and Ellei is concerned because she’s never driven in snow and tomorrow she has to get back to Nottingham promptly because she has a hair dressing appointment with her elusive hairdresser Kirk. She has to travel back to Nottingham to get her hair cut because no one else is up to the mammoth task. Kirk always gets a sweat on when drying her hair and has to take breaks. When she lived in Spain, Ellie had three hairdressers drying her hair at once, sighing, ‘Madre Mia’.
It was Lie Detector Friday and because of all the snow drama Ellie only got to face one question. Today it’s Blame Someone Else Day (slash blame the snow day) and Ben asked if Ellie has ever done something wrong and blamed it on someone else at work. She said no but got electrocuted… rest assured she would only ever blame something on Ben.
GAME WHEEL at 7.30am
This week on the Game Wheel you can win a pair of cinema tickets to the Vue to see any movie of your choice.
Today it was The Big Science Quiz: what causes wind? Steve was our winner, the answer was changes in atmospheric pressure.
SCREEN STARS
We started our new competition to win 2 tickets to the Vue every morning at 6.20 am… Screen Stars. Today it was, ‘What do points make? Prizes!’. Helen got the answer, Play Your Cards Right.
PANIC
We started our new game Panic to win £25 if you can name 5 things related to the ‘Panic List’ from your chosen subject. If you panic, you will receive a panic button!
Today we had Michelle who panicked and only got two Tom Hanks films, after the call she said she could name six… that’s how it goes.
Next week, we will begin our week long Accumulator Challenge for St Leonard’s Hospice, hopefully we will have some better ideas then. Also we conclude Give It Up, Take It Up. Ben will give a piano recital, Ellie will take on an archery challenge and Cat will do her second bleep test and try to smash her previous 4.6 record.
Cheers,
Ellie

Ellie's Breakfast Show update
12th January 2017
After yesterday’s debacle regarding Ben trying to lend Ellie his hoodie the other day, we got on to the subject of handshakes or hugs. Ellie is a big advocate of the handshake and even pulls it out in the clubs, which does get weird looks. Ben reckons the worst part is at the end of the night when you are trying to say bye to everyone but once you’ve had a few vinos its hugs all round…
Nicholas has learnt a new trick and it’s a fool proof McDoanld’s scam. Nicholas has learnt that every time they drive past a McDonald’s he needs a wee, forcing Ben to stop. Then he pulls a tantrum until Ben buys him nuggets… Ellie is wondering if that would work with her parents.
We were talking about the top three excuses that tradesmen use when they don’t turn up:
1. There was a burst pipe so had to go to another job
2. My truck got broken in to last night and they’ve taken all my tools
3. Sorry my truck didn’t start and is now in for a service.
Ellie has had her own fair share of tradesmen drama. Their tap is broken so every time you switch it on the head falls off and water jets across the room. The guy brought a new tap along with him, left it on the floor and then taped up the old tap so now it just sprays a fine mist meaning Ellie has to wear a coat in the kitchen at all times.
GAME WHEEL at 7.30am
This week on the Game Wheel you can win a pair of cinema tickets to the Vue to see any movie of your choice.
Today it was Cast List: Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. The answer was Mission Impossible and Mark was our winner.
SCREEN STARS
We started our new competition to win 2 tickets to the Vue every morning at 6.20 am… Screen Stars. Today it was, ‘Your boy's suit I designed to withstand enormous friction without heating up or wearing out, a useful feature. Your daughter's suit was tricky, but I finally created a sturdy material that can disappear completely as she does. Your suit can stretch as far as you can without injuring yourself, and still retain its shape. Virtually indestructible, yet it breathes like Egyptian cotton.’ Ellie struggled with the line because it was so long but Michelle got it anyway – The Incredibles.
PANIC
We started our new game Panic to win £25 if you can name 5 things related to the ‘Panic List’ from your chosen subject. If you panic, you will receive a panic button!
Today we had Andy from Pickering who sounded nervous but smashed it naming five characters from Only Fools and Horses.
Tomorrow it’s Lie Detector Friday so send in your questions and also if you watch The Apprentice and think the contestants are rubbish and you could wipe the floor with them, we are launching something exciting tomorrow.
Cheers
Ellie

Show update 11th January
11th January 2017
Ellie is still on a mission to find friends and she thought she might have bagged a golden opportunity at the gym when a girl asked her about padlocks. Ellie thought this meant she deffo wanted to be pals but didn’t want to look desperate so couldn’t ask for her number. Instead she suggested she send a work out plan to her via email so she has some form of contact. Ellie sent the programme and said they could do it together. She wanted to offer a lift to the gym but decided that was too creepy. So far no response to the email.
We were talking about the family traits you inherit from Mum or Dad. Things like laziness, courage and direction skills come from Dad whilst organisation, insecurity and dress sense come from Mum. Well Ellie got a proper mix of traits but all the bad ones. She got a mix of the hair colours so her shade is ‘dish water’, she got big teeth, belly flab, dodgy knees and bad eye sight from her Dad and thin lips, small eyes and wide hips from her Mum. She also got her mum’s singing voice, her Mum who was told to mime in a choir. Great.
More Give It Up, Take It Up drama as Ben has downloaded a piano app that lights up the key he needs to press. Unfortunately during his piano recital there won’t be any light up keys. Ellie has done absolutely nothing and pleaded for help and luckily Geoff the Vice Chair of York’s Archery Society was listening and has set Ellie up with some lessons. Standing ovation 2.0 here we come..
GAME WHEEL at 7.30am
This week on the Game Wheel you can win a pair of cinema tickets to the Vue to see any movie of your choice.
Today it was the Sing-a-long song, and Stu the sparky sang beautifully to Wham, Wake Me Up to win the cinema tickets.
SCREEN STARS
We started our new competition to win 2 tickets to the Vue every morning at 6.20 am… Screen Stars. Today it was, ‘I just love jumping in muddy puddles’. Clearly a lot of tortured parents in North Yorkshire as a lot of people were getting it right. Gary was our winner today.
PANIC
We started our new game Panic to win £25 if you can name 5 things related to the ‘Panic List’ from your chosen subject. If you panic, you will receive a panic button!
Today we had Matthew trying to keep his cool but unfortunately he cracked under pressure and could only name 1 Spice Girls song. Another chance to bag yourself £25 tomorrow morning at 8.10.
