Things we talked about today…
Happy Halloween! Yes today is the spookiest day in the calendar, and Ben and Laura even had a visit from the Pumpkin Scarecrow. 5 year old Charlie and his mum came to trick or treat at the studio and won themselves a family ticket to York Dungeon – and of course some sweets!

Keep listening to Minster FM to find out how their projects are getting on… and if you like the sound of any of the items, then you could buy it! Age UK York help over 5000 older people in York with the help from your donations, whether that be money or items in the shop! Ben decided to go for a moses basket and Is now in deep regret as he has no idea what to do with it, any ideas?

Acting legend Lyn Paul also joined DG and Laura today to tell us about her farewell tour! Lyn Paul has played Mrs Johnstone in the hit musical Blood Brothers for the past 22 years, and this is her last tour! Make sure you see her at the Grand Opera House York, 28th October – 2nd November.
DG revealed that his most hated phrase is ‘living my best life’ and it turns out, all you listeners have phrases that really grind your gears too! Including ‘it is what it is’ and ‘new and improved’… it cant be new AND improved, can it?

Corny The Clowns’ mum from HallowScream (yes, the crazy granny!) is turning up at high schools with Laura this week to give lucky winners the chance at Family tickets for HallowTween. HallowTween is a new event at York Maze, which is basically HallowScream but a little more tame for those of us with a nervous disposition or those of you that are between the ages of 10 and 15. This morning for the last time the pair were sent to York High School and Corney’s mum got all the students to do the cha cha slide!!
Apparently listening to the radio in the workplace leads to more productive workers! Listening to Minster FM is now advised in the workplace…

World Mental Health Day

Corny The Clowns’ mum from HallowScream (yes, the crazy granny!) is turning up at high schools with Laura this week to give lucky winners the chance at Family tickets for HallowTween. HallowTween is a new event at York Maze, which is basically HallowScream but a little more tame for those of us with a nervous disposition or those of you that are between the ages of 10 and 15. This morning the pair were sent to Malton High School and Corney’s mum gave us a great show by doing a dance off, of course the student won as he did a back flip!!

Ben and Jess are almost ready for their baby to come! The hospital bags have been packed, and when I say bags I mean two bags with wheels! Ben actually asked Jess if she was going on a long relaxing break… Big mistake.
Over the weekend Twist and Pulse became the ultimate BGT Champions! Laura is still insisting that this is down to her warming them up by dancing with them at the Balloon fiesta before their stint at the semi-final.. Congrats boys!

Gift Aid Awareness Day

Things we talked about today…
Laura had her first solo gig yesterday in drawing a raffle for HPH Chartered Accountants. It went great and they raised £1000 for Dementia Forward – however all of the other offices were crowding around computers waiting for the Facebook Live to tell them who had won the prizes, only to realise that Robert had accidentally set the Facebook Live to go on his private Facebook and not the firms page! So… thanks to Roberts mum who was the only person that probably watched live. The video and winners are now up on the official page!
It's Gift Aid Awareness Day today as charities lose £560million every year in unclaimed Gift Aid… tick the box guys!
Ben and Jess are expecting their baby to come very soon so are getting prepared. Last night Ben tried to fit his isofix Car Seat and because he has a fancy sports car it wouldn’t fit properly! So Ben decided the only option was to look on autotrader to sell his car instantly! It’s ok.. the neighbour came round and fixed it in within 5 minutes. Ben still cried actual tears though.

Things we talked about today…
An Update on Big Ian’s Xmas Presence event! Big Ian and his team have found a venue! For the past two years, Ian and his family have hosted around 100 elderly people in a venue for Christmas dinner and lots of fun! These are people who would’ve otherwise spent Christmas alone – so it’s a fantastic day where hearts and bellies are full! BUT Ian still needs a venue to host around 100 people with kitchen facilities on Christmas Day!
An eventful weekend for Ben and Laura went to a Spa at the weekend and the spa lady accidentally burped in her face whilst giving a facial…and Ben now has permanently curled toes after Jess shrunk his trainers in the wash.
Apparently on average we keep our sofas for 11 years, and in those 11 years the blokes get kicked out of bed and sleep on the sofa 191 times.
