Ellie B's daily blog bit
28th February 2017
The show started with a bold statement from Ellie that pancake day is better than your birthday. Her reasons being that as you get older the presents dry up, you start dreading getting older, whereas with pancake day the older you get the better. Ellie used to be limited to three pancakes when she lived at home and now she's independent she can have allll the pancakes.
It's world book day on Thursday and we were struggling for ideas. Ben suggested that Ellie go for Victoria Beckham since she released an autobiography called 'Learn to fly' or maybe Bridget Jones as she has lots of frumpy clothes… Ellie said she couldn't compromise her integrity as an English Lit student and would come as something like the Hungry Caterpillar, since it's the foundation of literature.

Ben then said, imagine being married to someone with the most boring job and hearing about it second hand… His handy tip is to ask at least three follow up questions to make it look like you really care. Sometimes he takes notes.
Ellie missed most of the Brits because she was trying to reconcile her relationship with her mother after Ben insulted her choice in budget hotel. Ellie’s Mum has said she can’t stay with her now in the hotel because of their comments. Ben has tried to make it better by getting a card for Jill for her birthday tomorrow. You can see the card on FB/twitter, it’s ridiculous. Jill then tweeted that a bottle of prosecco might be needed to close the rift… demanding!

Ellie is the girl on the train
20th February 2017
Ellie was furious at the weekend because the blatant disregard for train etiquette when she was coming back from Edinburgh. She had to move to let another lady in to the seat next to her and they had a quick chat. Ellie then said 'sorry I'm going to have to be boring and sleep because I've only had a few hours' sleep'. Ellie shut her eyes and then ten seconds later the lady asked her another question… she opened her eyes slowly to emphasise she was sleeping and then shut her eyes again. Ten seconds later the lady asked another question… ELLIE IS SLEEPING PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!
Ellie then revealed she likes to use the train as a setting for an imaginary movie. She stares out the window puts on some emotional music and just imagines an award-winning monologue. Turns out she's not the only one as Karen rang up and says she does the same thing, and imagines she's in music videos. Specifically Will Young's music videos, which we all thought was a bit strange.
Ben is having a parenting dilemma. They have reintroduced the naughty step but Nick has turned it around on them after they found him having a nap on the naughty step. Nick now goes to the naughty step when Ben and Jess annoy him, thus giving him all the power. He won't leave the naughty step until they give him what he wants. Evil genius.

Fifty Shades Darker drama
15th February 2017
Ben and Ellie both exceeded at having an awful Valentine's Days. Ben bought his wife 'the mug of love' which she described as his 'lowest moment' and then he panicked, bought flowers and got told off for buying flowers at Valentine's prices. Oh, and Nicholas smashed Jess' iPad which he left for her to find in the morning because she had gone to bed early. Ellie was really ill so was sat with her hot water bottle, in bed, alone. She had said earlier that 'she just wants to be held'. Then in an act of true love her Mum turned up at the door with comforting treats and a cuddle (worth noting she lives in Notts).
Ben had set up a Valentine's surprise for Ellie… to go and see 50 Shades Darker. With him. 'Unfortunately' Ellie was ill so Ben had to go alone like a total weirdo. His review was absolute garbage. His main issue was the lack of plot (no sure people go for the plot) and what is Christian Grey's job? Ben wants it as he seems to do no work and just have a great time.

This week on the Game Wheel you can win a pair of tickets to see Elton John at the First Direct Arena in York.

But he was not always alone, because years afterward he became a man and married'. The answer was the Jungle Book and Jo was our winner.
PANIC

Today Carl smashed panic in record time naming five days of the week in French in about three seconds.

Valentines Eve show update
13th February 2017
Ellie had a bit of a tragic weekend. She went home and a new lock and alarm has been installed at her house and no codes were given to Ellie. She then was in a bar alone and the minimum spend was £5 on card so she had to get two drinks. The bar was pretty full and she heard a couple snooping for seats say 'no, there's two drinks, there must be more someone else there'. There wasn't. Then she convinced a bunch of 17 year olds in Maccies that she deserved to skip the in the queue because she was just getting chips and there was just her. Ellie thought she swindled them but Ben pointed out that they probably felt sorry for her as she has become Bridget Jones.
With Valentin's Day on the horizon we have found the least romantic story of all time. Ellie's brother rang her up to ask if he could give his girlfriend and old teddy that her ex boyfriend gave her five years ago. WHAT?! Ellie's Mum now feels so bad for the girl she's gone out to buy a present for her from Ellie's brother.

Friday show update from Ellie B
10th February 2017
It was Lie Detector Friday; a Valentine's special. Gemma asked if Ellie had ever sent a Valentine's card to another friend's boyfriend. She said no and got electrocuted, maybe that's why she has no friends. Ellie was also asked if there is someone in the Minster FM office that she wanted to send a Valentine's card to. She said absolutely not and got electrocuted again. Nightmare.
