We aim to make every stay a memorable one and strive to ensure that everyone leaves a happy Tribfester!
Why Should They Win?
One story that really struck me at Tribfest 2018 was when I walked through the campsite mid Thursday afternoon when everyone is setting up. I stopped to speak with a regular Tribfest face. She has been at the festival every year with her grandson for 12 years, despite 7 years ago been diagnosed with a severe respiratory disease, giving her 6 months to live. This year as I walked past her usual spot I stopped for a chat we talked about a lot of things but her illness was the main point that we discussed.
We talked about how lucky we all were to be embarking on our 12th journey together and reminisced on the early years! It is moments like these that have inspired us to keep the festival small.
We know our customers, not just in a marketing sense but we actually know them, their faces, their names, their usual camping spots, their favourite drink at the bar, their favourite band because not only do we take the time to talk to them over the festival but we engage with them like friends throughout the year through social media and bumping into them at other local events.
It is truly a special and unique event and that is why we feel that Tribfest deserves to win this award.
Shakespeare's Rose Theatre by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions
About Them
Lunchbox Theatrical Productions have been leading theatre and event producers in Australasia for the last 25 years and were responsible for opening up new overseas markets for British theatre productions.
Returning to North Yorkshire in 2004, a UK events arm was established where the company create popular events such as Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland and THOR'S tipi bar.
Most recently, we created a landmark event for York last summer with Shakespeare's Rose Theatre. Situated next to the iconic Clifford's Tower, this 900-seat pop-up Elizabethan theatre employed 200 staff and staged four high-quality productions of popular Shakespeare plays. The season welcomed an audience of over 78,000 in 2018 and is now open for summer 2019.
In addition, a Shakespearean village was designed and built adjacent to the theatre, where free wagon entertainment, an Elizabethan garden and some of Yorkshire's finest food and drink attracted a further 20,000 visitors from far and wide.
Why Should They Win?
Shakespeare's Rose Theatre deserves to win as we created a ground-breaking event, wowed nearly 80,000 people in year one in York and created a huge buzz nationally and regionally in the media. Online reviews prove its success with the audience, with many raving about every aspect of this event theatre; from the productions, the structure, the village and the staff.
All ten school performances sold out in 2018 and are almost sold out for 2019 too.
The large diversity of people attending proved that the event was not just for avid theatre-goers but for anyone wanting a different experience; and our geographical statistics showed the event drew visitors to York from far and wide in the UK and overseas.
With over thirty 3, 4 and 5 star reviews for the plays, and media applauding the success of every facet of the event, Shakespeare's Rose Theatre is a Yorkshire creation that the team behind it are all very proud of.
The 2019 season has now begun and the shows have received rave reviews and thousands have already booked to experience it once again. We hope for yet another amazing season.

About Them
Visit Malton CIC is a not for profit organisation working with and for the community to promote Malton as Yorkshire's Food Capital and improve community spirit.
As well as the annual Food Lovers Festival in May, the CIC organises weekly traditional Saturday markets, monthly food markets, the hugely successful Marathon Du Medoc - 'Britain's Tastiest 10k', the annual Harvest Food Festival in September and the massive Christmas market in December. We also run the hugely popular Artisan food tours every month, and Street Food Sunday events across the summer months and this year we launched a brand new music festival - Meadowfest.
We support a number of local groups and charities with donations and in kind support. This support includes offering practical help to organisations wishing to run their own fundraising events by enabling them to use our land, helping with PR and providing power supplies, etc.
To boost the local economy the CIC operate a number of car parks in Malton town centre offering two hours free parking for over 200 cars.
To enhance the public realm the CIC works closely with Malton Town Council to organise and subsidise the multi award winning Malton in Bloom project and Malton's Christmas lights.
Why Should They Win?
The 2019 'Food Lovers Festival' organised by Visit Malton CIC was the biggest yet. 44,000 visitors (a 29% increase year on year) came to Malton for this free event providing a welcome boost to the local economy, estimated to be worth in excess of half a million pounds.
As 'Yorkshire's Food Capital' it naturally follows the 'Malton Food Lovers Festival' aims to showcase and champion local produce. The festival featured over 150 of the finest food stalls, with over 50% coming from here in North Yorkshire, rising to 95% from the wider North East region.
The weekend also featured talks, tastings, celebrity chefs, cookery lessons, food authors and live music throughout the two days. With a theme of 'Meet The Yorkshire Chefs' notable guests included Michelin stars Tommy Banks and James MacKenzie along with Stephen Smith from The Star Inn at Harome and a whole host of brilliant local chefs.
Customer and stallholder feedback was once again excellent. The reputation of the festival is the biggest driver in attendance with over 50% coming because of a recommendation from others. The reputation of the festival is set to grow as Tommy Banks was this year announced as Patron of the festival
Deadpan Players
About Them
We are a not for profit community group bringing panto, fun and energy to Escrick, raising thousands of pounds for local charities in the process.
Why Should They Win?
We are a not for profit community group bringing panto to Escrick. We performed Cinderella at Queen Margaret's Chapman Theatre in January this year. The script, costumes and staging were all created from scratch - oh yes they were!! It was great fun for the cast and production team, audience reviews included 'Better than Berwick' and we raised over £3700.00 which we donated to Candlelighters.
It was such a great community event that we are bringing Aladdin back to Escrick in January next year. Again, all money raised will be given to support local charity.
