As a salon in only its fourth year of trading we have built a very impressive client base of which we are very proud of and each and every day we have new customers come through our door more often than not through recommendation! We never get complacent and are always looking for new ideas to improve our salon and services to ensure our customers always get the very best we can provide.

Our team is constantly growing and we strive to bring the best service and treatments to all and whilst your treatment is being carried out you always get a cuppa and very nice biscuits even if your sat waiting for someone we always provide that nice little luxury. We opened our salon just over 1 year ago, 3 hairdressers following our dream of owning our own salon. We worked full time whilst transforming a ran down shop in to a salon we could be proud to welcome our clients in to. We work long hours to fit our clients needs, regularly attend training course and most importantly we LOVE what we do!

About Them

A lot of blood, sweat and tears (literally!) has gone into my Nail Art studio which opened on 1st May 2019 and I'm so proud of it!

I love everything from the 90s and 00s, as that was when I was a child, and I'm now still a big kid at heart so I've created a mega colourful, fun and nostalgic studio that makes everyone who enters, have that 'wow' moment, followed by the feeling of not knowing where to look first. From the rainbow decor to the throwback music playlist and everything in between, it's all from around the millennium era! 

Since becoming a Nail Tech, I spotted that there had always been a gap in the market in York for what I specialise in: Handpainted Nail Art. Feedback from people in the local area told me that this was hard to come by, and that people didn't have that go-to nail place due to both poor customer service and a below par standard of nail treatment. I wanted to change that - to treat you, and give you nails that will not only look visibly stunning but will last you weeks and get you countless compliments!

Why Should They Win?

I have brought something new to York which it was definitely missing! Many people see Nail Art online but have nowhere to go for it doing (and doing well!) and that is exactly what I wanted to do - bring that to York and excel at it.

I was a finalist in 2018 & 2019 in the Gel Polish Stylist of the Year  Category in a national industry awards competition, fighting off hundreds of applicants and making it to the top 5 in the country. I also partake in the #GiftOfNails scheme in which I offer a free Gel Manicure/Pedicure to someone who has been nominated to me if they're going through a tough time perhaps with their health or financially, and needs a pick me up!

With thousands of social media followers, I'm very passionate and I put my heart and soul into what I do and like to showcase my skills to all my clients both old and new. I've been in this industry over 6 years and to win an award the year I set up on my own would mean the world to me and prove that I can achieve anything I set my mind to!

Sarah J's is a multi award winning hair and beauty studio. They have recently reached 7 successful years of business and undergoing a refurbishment as celebration. 

Their highly trained team of professionals understand the science behind each of their treatments, this ensures they deliver the glamorous results their clientele desire without the fashionably high price tag. 

The cutting edge selection of products they use are specifically chosen to provide a high quality service to every individuals needs. 

They cater for all ages and offer honest and helpful advice as our customer reviews demonstrate.

They are always updating their skills as the trends change, to fulfil their clients needs.

Why Should They Win?

Our salon prioritises the clients experiences ensuring they are comfortable and leave satisfied.

We continuously expand each stylists hairdressing and beauty knowledge, this not only widens the salons treatments but is beneficial when consulting with a client.

Another aim of ours is for clients to arrive as a guest but leave as our friend. 

Sarah opened the salon at 21 years of age. The business has gone from strength to strength and holds a bright future.

A combination of priorities, friendly staff and scientific knowledge are the perfect recipe for a sanctuary where our clients can come for support and guidance. 

To achieve the listeners choice award would be an honour for the salon and the girls Sarah, Amy and Jayne. It would be the perfect way to celebrate our 7th anniversary.

Kuki Hair and Beauty Spa

About Them

We are a friendly & professional Hair & Beauty Spa. We pride ourselves on our customer service skills and we have an amazing team of girls (all 24!) The building itself is a beautiful 1920's Grade 11 listed building with lots of history. It's a perfect haven of peace and tranquillity.

Why Should They Win?

We are awesome at what we do and just have the best team. The owner of the business, Lisa Wilson is fabulous to work for and makes sure we are all happy in our work. 

She has done an amazing job at building up this busy Spa and last year celebrated her 10th year. 

We would love to win as it would be so nice to be recognised by a local award.

Here at Prept York we have created a beauty boutique that is a go to place for all our clients cosmetic and beauty preparation, and this is where our name came from. Be that a night out, a holiday, a wedding or just for day to day life. Our list of services include:
